Lend a Smile…

Lend a smile from a mile in style
Nothing selfish should it imply
Just a wand to light a brother’s sky
Stricken with clouds of doubts and whines
But for a curve of happy lines
Rubbing off our cries and sighs
Won’t we have a habitat?-
Filled with butterflies and chimes?

Who are we but moving sacks?
Moving slowly on life’s tracks
On a voyage long and vast
What each holds inside their sacks,
Remains hidden like a spell cast
In our miseries we stay entrapped
If to each other we fail to lend a hand
Simply beginning with a smile from the heart

Oh’ what good does a smile to the soul
Just like ice it quenches hot coals
Lifts the mind and strengthens weary bones
Mending hearts and calling for quick resolve
Physically, spiritually and emotionally contagious
Rejuvenates the old and creates new bonds
Embracing strangers without saying a word
How powerful a smile it even breaks swords!
