12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS POETRY CHALLENGE! (Call For Entry…)

Celebrating the poetics of Yuletide!….

The_Peregrine

Yes!! It’s December!!! 😀

It’s that special time of the year when our ears flap to the tingling of Christmas buzz and our lips lurch in exciting smiles for the magical moments waiting to unfold in anticipation of Christmas!

Here at The Peregrine Reads, we think of Christmas and we think of you! In appreciation for your support all through the year, we have prepared a special package for you entitled: #12DAYSOFCHRISTMAS!

#12DAYSOFCHRISTMAS is a platform conceived to explore the rich world of poetry during the season of Christmas by showcasing different works of poetry from different writers which will be published on my blog from the 12days that herald Christmas, starting precisely the 14th of December and ending on the 25th of December.

#12DAYSOFCHRISTMAS is an open challenge for writers and poets who are enthusiastic about getting their works to a larger audience and sharpening their writing creativity. Poems written will deal with the thematic concept of “Christmas” touching on life, love, birth, childhood memories of Christmas, reconciliation, renewal and romance. Any other unique features of Christmas are particularly welcome!

From the 14th of December, one poem goes up on the blog up until the 25th of December. Your poem could be one of these! So come back often to know when yours goes up! When your work gets published, invite family, friends and friends of friends to like and share your beautiful poetry with others who will like and share with others too. With that, your work of creativity reaches a wider audience. Each time that happens, your chances of emerging winner increases!

Yes, there’s a “winning prize” attached! 😀

After the 25th of December (Christmas day), the challenge comes to successful end! A three person panel of judges made up of:
I) Noel Ihebuzor
II) Luciano Uzuegbu
III) Emeka Nobis

will assess each poem based on clearly defined criteria and award a score. This score will account for 50% of the total score. The other 50% will come from a summation of likes on each submission, making a total of 100%. The submission with the highest score wins!

–To participate, send in your poems to peregrine.reads@yahoo.com with the Sub-title “#12daysofChristmas Poetry Appreciation” alongside your name and contact (Number and social network names and a link to your blog/website) details underneath your poem. Submission ends on December 13th.

–On the 1st of January, (New Year Day), the results will be ready and the winner will be announced on the blog!

–The winner of The 2014 Peregrine Reads Poetry challenge will get a Christmas gift from me. In addition to that, the winner will get a free publication of two of his/her best written poem in my soon-to-be published Anthology of poems next year.

So what are you waiting for? Pick up your pens and let your creative juices flow! We’re only 12 days away ….

I can’t wait to read from you! 😀

SPREAD THE WORD!!!…
